ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - IMC Job Details: • Work 12-hour variable day and night shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) • 36 guaranteed hours per week • 13-week contract length • Contract end date is Sunday, not Saturday • Every other weekend and every other holiday required • Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units • Patient ratio: 4:1 • Can be low censused and put on call with 2-hour minimum call back • 2 years of nursing experience required (firm requirement) • Stepdown/Intermediate/PCU experience required • ICU experience preferred • At least 1 prior travel experience required • Ventilator/Trach experience required • Trauma Level II experience preferred • Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS • EPIC charting experience preferred • Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred • Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility • Any color scrubs allowed • Work with patients including stable weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and insulin drips • Fast-paced environment requiring ability to work independently and manage change well • 36 hours of low census unbillable hours available during contract Facility: This hospital features a 36-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring capabilities. The facility specializes in complex medical conditions and trauma care, providing advanced monitoring and treatment for patients requiring stepdown level care. The unit handles a diverse patient population including ventilator and tracheostomy patients, trauma cases, and various medical conditions requiring intermediate-level nursing intervention.
