Job Summary
The Ecommerce Search Analyst assists with the strategy, planning and reporting of School Specialty on-site and off-site search analysis, including day-to-day management and ongoing performance optimization. The ideal candidate will have great project management skills, excellent technical credentials, and hands-on experience implementing on-site search initiatives and off-site SEO optimization.
Essential Job Functions

• Improve the online search experience across multiple web sites
• Utilize tools to help customers effectively and quickly navigate to the right product and solution online, ultimately leading to revenue growth
• Execute search term research, analysis, and diagnosis
• Work with internal business teams such as Merchandising, Sales and Subject Matter Experts to refine onsite search relevancy and product placement
• Implement customer feedback as needed
• Create and execute on business rules that impact the search results display
• Research and identify alternate naming conventions, industry/trade terms, search variations, and categorizations
• Provide data enhancement recommendations (data gaps, missing information, inconsistent UOM / abbreviations, mis-categorization, etc.)
• Assist with product hierarchy optimization as needed
• Optimize the search experience by monitoring search logs, analytics, and feedback and recommending the appropriate changes to product data
• Assist Ecommerce Marketing team in execution and optimization of digital campaigns through search
• Ensure proper site testing
• Optimize components for SEO
• Implement a keyword strategy to increase rankings
• Work with development team to optimize site performance and ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented
• Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO position for target keywords Knowledge/Skills required
  
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, merchandising or a related field
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with search tools, SOLR and HCL Commerce experience a plus
  • Expert Google Analytics skills
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
  • Strong Ecommerce customer experience background
  • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Positive, self-motivated, with a desire to constantly search out ways of improving process and project effectiveness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
