JOB TITLE: Parts Associate LOCATION: Appleton, WI REPORTS TO: Preventive Maintenance Planner CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for administration and routine operation of the parts storerooms, in accordance with company policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to: Ordering, issuing and receiving maintenance parts as appropriate, including issues parts received to open work orders or places parts in proper location within parts rooms. Entering data into the maintenance software system, including receipt and distribution of parts/supplies and generating reports, tracking parts usage using bar coding as appropriate. Communicating with mechanics to appropriately assess parts needs and issuing replacement parts to mechanics and assists mechanics in choice of parts. Inventorying, stocking, and issuing parts and supplies and/or purchasing assigned or designated parts and services from an approved list of vendors. Working on vendor-related items, including verifying shipments and quantities received, conferring with suppliers regarding late deliveries, ensuring ordered/received parts are correct through use of parts catalog, either physical or on-line, obtaining vendor quotes and preparing purchase orders as appropriate. Completion of Inventory Control documents and other related paperwork, including ensuring inventory is in a ready state for use Assisting with periodic cycle counts of parts as needed. Sorting and processing warranty parts and material. Regular and punctual attendance and physical presence in the workplace. Timely and accurate completion of duties. Occasional travel for work, up to 33% of the time. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES The following are required competencies of the position that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job: Computer Skills: Ability to operate all information technology related business systems, programs and applications in a manner that achieves efficiency, accuracy, and relevancy of information processing and reporting as it applies to this position. CMMS experience is preferred. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as dictated letters or memoranda, invoices, company policies and various documentation, paying particular attention to grammar. Ability to process routine reports and correspondences. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors and others. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Requires excellent telephone skills. Mathematical Skills: Ability to correctly add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to correctly compute rate, ratio, and percent. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Skills & Abilities: Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard business machines, such as a computer and keyboard, calculator, FAX, photocopier, telephone, postage machine, paper shredder, scanner, etc. The ability to drive a motor vehicle, and maintaining a valid driver s license. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne participles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Protective Equipment Requires the use of a hair net, uniform, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves and eye protection as needed by the work being performed. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE This position requires a high school diploma/GED, knowledge of basic work procedures related to the job and one to three year of job-related experience, with specific warehousing inventory control experience preferred.
