Midwest Valve Services, a Novaspect company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Machinist to join our fast paced, customer oriented team. The successful candidate will have advanced machining experience and excellent mechanical skills.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to troubleshoot and correct machining issuesProgram, edit and operate CNC (computer numeric control) M/G code machine toolsDesign and fabricate custom tooling and fixturesAbility to use 2D AutoCADCreate and edit drawingsAdvanced setup and operationEngine & Vertical LathesMilling MachinesAbility to machine parts to precise dimensions and finish per drawingsUnderstanding of Basic MetallurgyUnderstanding of material combinations related to wear and gallingUnderstanding of Heat TreatingAbility to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprintsApply advanced math skills toVerify measurementsCalculate dimensionsVerify tolerancesKnowledge and proper selection ofToolingCutting speedFeed ratesPerforms service requests as assigned under the supervision of the Shop Manager and Lead Technicians.Drive vehicle to and from job sites.Maintain a clean work environment.Follow all safety guidelines.Education and/or ExperienceValve, pump or actuator experience preferred.Welding ability is a plus.Additional RequirementsMust have mechanical aptitude.Good verbal & written communication skillsMust be able to take direction, use initiative and follow through to completion.Must be willing to work on site at customer facilities.Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to be insured on company insurance.Must be willing to learn and improve skill level for future advancement.Overnight travel required.PI229724821
