JOB SUMMARY: The Youth Support Specialist provides services to youth who have been re-unified with their family after being placed in an out-of-home setting. Staff work closely with identified families and address a wide range of concerns including: safety, parenting, coaching strategies to effectively parent and deescalate aggressive, out of control behaviors. This position may provide support and assistance with household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, community referral, education, employment, medical, mental health and substance abuse issues. The Youth Support Specialist also provides follow-up services and referrals to community-based services when appropriate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Analyze youth capabilities, strengths and problems to determine the services required to meet the unique needs of youth.Implement youth goals in collaboration with team members, youth and their families.Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for youth in school, the community and during emergency and crisis situations.Attend youth/family team meetings.Organize and facilitate individual meetings and structured recreational activities that assist youth in developing pro-social skills and connections.Safely transport clients as needed.After training is complete, staff are added to on-call duties to monitor after-hours calls. LOCATION: Office is based in Appleton, WI. Position will work on-site at the office and out in the community meeting in-person with clients. Flexibility to work hybrid/remote two days per week. SCHEDULE: Part time 10-20 hours per week with availability to pick up additional hours. Hours of operation are varied and will include one evening per week and Saturdays.
