In sharing the same mission and values, our workforce remains engaged and passionate about what we manufacture and services we provide.GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:Manitou Equipment America is seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to act as the technical lead for developing system solutions for off-highway machinery that meet the evolving needs of our customers.Along with product management and the platform engineering teams, the Sr. Systems Engineer will define the functional and HMI requirements for Gehl and Manitou products produced in the USA. Once defined, they will work with their colleagues to create functional specifications for use by software developers as well as test plans to validate accuracy of implementation. The Sr. Systems Engineer will be responsible for the entire development process from tracking/closure of issues and providing status reports to management, all the way through to production release.As part of Manitou's global family, the Sr. Systems Engineer will also work closely with international colleagues to stay aligned with company-wide objectives for zero emissions, safety, and commonality among product lines. They will take part in corporate steering committees to harmonize development processes and lead the implementation of these best practices in the USA.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Technical leadership of vehicle systems and support of new product development programs.Product requirement analysis/decomposition and translation into engineering specifications.Product development, system design, and integrationSoftware bench testing.Collaborate with project team to define proper system test cases to test requirementsCollaborate with the project team to create the system FMEA and determine significant/critical characteristics.CAD as required (wiring diagrams and harnesses)Mentoring and development of junior staff.EXPERIENCE:7 years minimum experienceAreas of focus: off-highway equipment NPD, software development/definition, CANbus (J1939), system diagnostics, mechatronics.EXPERTISE:Strong knowledge of system requirements definition.Strong knowledge of system level development process.Experience leading technical meetings with internal and/or external representatives.Knowledge of CAN/J1939 communication protocol.Electrical hardware and software knowledge.Strong knowledge of test methods, test management, and the test process.Very strong problem analysis and solution skills.Familiarity with data acquisition systems, data analysis, and data processing.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.High degree of independent judgment and decision making.Takes initiative, sense of ownership with a positive attitude.Strong organizational skills.Ability to evaluate risk and make timely decisions.Ability to interface with other departments in a collaborative manner.Familiarity with Siemens NX, VeSys, Vector CANalyzer, MATLAB, C is a plus.Fluency in French is a plus but is not required.EDUCATION:Bachelors in Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalentINTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS:Manufacturing, Product Management, Purchasing, Test Engineering, Technology Center (FR)Suppliers, CustomersLOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:This position is located at our headquarters in West Bend, WI or at our satellite office in downtown Milwaukee, WI (travel to West Bend will be required periodically).Travel up to 10%#indeedHP#li-manitouusjobsOUR REWARDS & RECOGNITION:In addition to an inclusive compensation package, we offer a comprehensive benefits program, including: Medical/Dental/Vision, 401k including employer match, tuition reimbursement, community-oriented volunteer program, wellness activities, employee and family activities throughout the year, and so much more!
