Performs related duties including maintaining records, providing information and assistance, preparing reports, producing staff schedules and compiles and submits time entry related to regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.+ Maintains accurate time records, monitors daily staffing needs to assure proper staff ratios, and monitors attendance in conjunction with supervisors.+ Reports hours worked to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for purposes of Payroll Based Journal reporting requirements.+ Coordinates regular and training schedules of permanent and probationary employees utilizing scheduling/payroll software system.+ Oversees the maintenance of employee master files containing pay rates, account numbers for general ledger, tax information, applicable income and deductions, etc. Updates tax tables as required. + Completes Personnel Actions. Assists in the preparation of salary and fringe benefit projections for the annual budget and annual financial audit. Prepares reports for administration to aid in operational and fiscal decisions.+ Coordinates and directs the preparation of fringe benefit reports including health insurance, long term disability, and unemployment. Coordinates the calculation of sick leave and vacation accruals. Assist in tracking FML qualification and usage.+ Collaborates with a team to help prepare and submit payroll.+ Assists with and participates in social activities of resident's choice which provide meaningful ways to spend time such as recreation, exercise, relationship building and fun.+ Maintains regular and predictable attendance, works overtime/extra hours as required.+ Performs other duties as assigned.Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements+ Graduate from high school or G.E.D. with specialized training or experience in payroll and scheduling.+ Or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.Required or Preferred SkillsMathematical Ability+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate decimals and percents.Language Ability and Interpersonal Communication+ Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including County Board resolutions, salary authorizations, tax guides, withholding statements, various policy and procedure guides, Federal and State tax guides, etc.+ Ability to prepare a variety of documents including Federal and State tax reports, retirement reports, vouchers, journals, letters and other correspondence, W2 reconciliations, etc.+ Ability to use and interpret labor law terminology.+ Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with Account Associates, Human Resources and other County departments, IT personnel, IRS and Wisconsin Department of Revenue representatives, and others verbally and in writing.OUTAGAMIE COUNTY IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
