HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Purpose Statement: To coordinate and assure the proper execution of the Transfer and Localization Process in order to meet our Customer's high standards, Internal & External by providing Supplier Program Management capability, support and execution services. The SPM is the effective General Manager of Plexus' CEC manufacturing supply base and provides the crucial link between supplier activities and Plexus supply chain, operations and transition management.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Supplier Project Management - Be accountable for on-time delivery of all aspects of supplier related transitions, trials, component approvals & qualifications, supplier process controls, and adherence to specification. Support localization and transition projects by providing product transfer plans while supporting manufacturing demand.
  • Customer Service - Understand all external and internal customer requirements. Provide supplier program management plan that provides supply chain solutions that meet or exceed these requirements. Accurately and timely evaluate mechanical drawings to determine correct supplier capability requirements by clearly identifying specifications; including, but not limited to, material and tolerance attributes
  • Supply Base Management - Understand, develop and approve all aspects of supplier's manufacturing strategy that supports Localization. To follow up with suppliers about the manufacturing flow, development of first articles and committed timeline execution. Solid understanding of the manufacturers, suppliers and marketplace for the assigned commodity and communicate this understanding to estimators, buyers, engineers, and costing personnel
  • Communication - Develop a correct communication channel and assure all the key palyers are well informed about the localization process. Status most be given constantly in order to take strategic decisions.
  • PPV implementation - To support and drive the tactical implementation of the PPV improvement strategies, working in conjunction with the SCPMs on specific initiatives for new or existing projects where low cost region suppliers (In Mexico) are involved for Electronics or CEC items. To create, execute and track a plan for the implementation of the PPV initiatives, leading and working with suppliers and people within the Corporate Business team, Supply Chain structure and/or the site cross functional teams to complete the different activities within the plan.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Productivity Manager team in order to find new projects, develop strategies and ensure the action plan execution in order to generate the PPV expected.
  • To drive the qualification with the proper site quality team of any new, alternate or localized item, following and meeting at all time customer specific requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Commodity Managers on all aspects of supplier interface and especially on the critical interface between sourcing strategy and supplier performance on projects.
  • Perform situational analysis, strategy development, guidance and implementation with different functional teams within the Plexus infrastructure.
  • Anticipate and resolve supplier manufacturing issues and problems that place on-time production launch or sustaining production at risk.
  • Manage and track record of complex transition and localization projects based on the Site established processes.
  • Minimal travel, less than 5%
  • Additional Duties as assigned

  • Advanced decision making and problem solving skills, especially in an environment of complexity, ambiguity and compressed timescales
  • Ability to influence others, within Plexus Corp. at suppliers and customers with sound reasoning and cognitive argument
  • Ability to lead effectively within a matrix organization and at supplier premises without formal authority
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment, and have the ability to follow through on assignments with little to no supervision
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including advanced computer skills in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is required; Industrial Engineering degree is preferred
  • Five (5) years of related experience is required; Three(3) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered

Work Environment:

  • The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level
