Apply your expertise as a Mechanical Engineer in our NA Services
As part of our talented team of Engineers you can apply your
skills and knowledge to create large-scale equipment designs that
support our customers in the pulp and paper industry. You'll work
for an industry leading company and produce world-class technology
solutions using cutting edge tools and resources.
Through participation in project kick-off meetings, you will be
involved in everything from component selection and functionality,
to project planning and target setting, to scheduling and follow-up
efforts. Valmet engineers work with the latest tools utilizing 3D
images of existing customer equipment - sometimes traveling to the
site to collect the machine scans directly. Then you'll use that
base information to model new equipment that fits directly into
place and helps to improve machine function and performance. The
scan data and new 3D model can then be combined to visually check
the assembly prior to installation.
You'll be part of a team focused on:
Project design work including existing and new designs
Assisting with model development, technology improvements, and
providing input for system and process improvement
Utilization of 3D imaging to improve quality and efficiency of
the engineering process
Overseeing all technical aspects of design for your assigned
- Ensuring all design work is complete, accurate, and on
WHAT YOU NEED
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; preferably 3 - 5
years' experience in heavy machine design; OR combination of
education and experience. Catia 3D experience or similar software
experience required. Paper industry experience a plus but not
required. Ability to manage customer projects and willingness to
travel to customer sites when needed.
