Job Band: D Job Family:Information Technology Career Track:Individual ContributorJob Summary The Sr IT Business Systems Analyst leads small to medium initiatives that may be strategic and/or cross-functional by conceptualizing medium complexity business problems and translating business objectives into actionable solutions to deliver the most cost effective, innovative technology solutions for required business needs. Participates as key team member in large to highly complex initiatives. The IT Business Systems Analyst gathers and analyzes industry, functional and technical information to help design and support information technology solutions, as a bridge between people, process, and technology, and serves as the liaison between technology and the business lines regarding new business solutions or enhancements to existing business solutions. The IT Business Systems Analyst role is responsible for collaborating with all levels of business and information technology teams to perform analysis, debugging, configuration, testing, training, documentation, implementation and maintenance for existing and new technology solutions. Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Utilize understanding of business processes and systems capabilities to identify and participate in process improvement and business value discussions
  • Analyze how well software, hardware and IT systems fit the business needs
  • Analyze IT systems and applications to recommend solution, improve efficiency and reduce cost of operations
  • Produce technical specifications for new or modified systems
  • Analyze business requirements and work with broader IT partners to recommend appropriate applications and technology solutions
  • Partner with enterprise business architects to influence solution designs using existing and new technologies in alignment with enterprise architecture vision
  • Gather and analyze business systems requirements that specify how a business system supports/enables work activity in a business process
  • Analyze data to identify patterns and solutions to root causes of problems
  • Balance multiple deadlines and prioritize key deliverables
  • Solve technical problems and recommend solutions Quality Assurance:
    • Create risk-based testing strategies to include functional, non-functional and performance testing
    • Develop and deploy test scripts to refine and debug software
    • Work with business and software developers to identify and resolve issues
    • Support testing and facilitate communication to stakeholders Documentation and Training:
      • Document specifications and mapping requirements for workflows, reports, data, and system integrations
      • Create reports, dashboards and author technical documentation to support system configuration, business continuity planning and standard operating procedures
      • Assist in preparation of end-use documentation and participate in training as needed
