Job Description ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/13/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: /n RN - ER /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour variable shifts with PM shifts starting at 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM /n• 13-week contract with 48 guaranteed hours per week /n• Overtime pay after 48 hours worked /n• Every other weekend and every other holiday required /n• On-call requirements: 12 hours in a 6-week period with 30-minute response time /n• May be required to float to other locations: Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley /n• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience required with at least one year of travel experience (FIRM requirement) /n• Trauma Level II experience required /n• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS /n• EPIC charting experience required /n• Work in fast-paced environment managing 3-4 patients per nurse /n• Responsibilities include drawing labs, administering nebulizer treatments, and medication dispensing via Pyxis /n• Must be hard-working, resilient, and able to manage change well /n• Must work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner /n• Any color scrubs permitted /n• Associate degree or certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred /n• Call back minimum is 2 hours with call back pay /n• Subject to low census and on-call during unbillable hours /n• Must comply with facility flu and COVID vaccination policies /n/n Facility: /n This hospital features a comprehensive emergency department with an 18-bed Trauma Level II unit that is stroke certified. The facility provides specialized care across multiple areas including cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory services. The emergency department is well-equipped with in-house laboratory services, respiratory therapy, and on-site X-ray staff.
