Job Description:

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. This role will focus on providing top-tier respiratory care to patients facing severe injuries or illnesses, aligning with our overall mission of facilitating independence and recovery through rehabilitation. As a member of our healthcare team, the Respiratory Therapist will work closely within our state-of-the-art facilities, contributing to our hospice and home health services. This role is crucial in implementing patient treatment plans and communicative recovering strategies, promoting optimal patient outcomes. Evaluate patient lung capacity and analyze blood samples to determine oxygen, carbon dioxide, and pH levels. Develop and implement therapeutic plans following physician orders and based on patient-specific needs. Manage ventilators and artificial airway devices for patients who cannot breathe independently. Monitor and regularly assess patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Educate patients and families about lung health and ongoing home healthcare strategies. Participate in the multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and optimize patient care plans. In-depth knowledge of respiratory care equipment and procedures Ability to assess and interpret relevant clinical data Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in handling multiple patients with diverse needs Skill in crisis intervention and emergency management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid and active Respiratory Therapist license Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
