Registered Nurse (RN) | Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op Location: Madison, WI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,343 per week Shift Information: Rotating - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 or 10 hours Experience: Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years, specifically in PACU/recovery room. Telemetry experience is required. License: Active nursing license required; compact license accepted. Certifications: BLS and ACLS are required, certified through the American Heart Association. Telemetry certification is required. Must-Have: Basic arrhythmia experience is essential. Ability to pass a telemetry test prior to starting. Description: This position requires daytime shifts, Monday through Friday. Shifts will be between the hours of 0700-2000 and 0500-2030. The nurse will prep patients for surgery and provide post-operative care in the recovery room. Nurses are responsible for assessing, diagnosing, intervening, evaluating, coordinating, and facilitating immediate post-anesthetic care for surgical patients. The role involves providing pain management and discharge teaching to outpatients returning for Phase II recovery. Floating to other departments may be required based on staffing needs. Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census averages around 45 patients. The unit operates with a 1:3 ratio in the pre/post area and a 1:2 ratio in PACU. Expect to participate in team-based interdisciplinary support, including IV teams and rapid response teams. Successful candidates will possess strong critical thinking and communication skills. Flexibility with scheduling is essential, including the potential for weekend shifts. Pass/fail testing will be conducted for telemetry competency during the initial phase.
