Registered Nurse (RN) \n Job Summary :\n A Dialysis Inpatient
Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized care to patients with
acute or chronic kidney disease who require hemodialysis or
peritoneal dialysis treatment. The RN works closely with a
multidisciplinary team to manage and monitor patients undergoing
dialysis, ensuring optimal care and outcomes in an inpatient
setting. \n\n Key Responsibilities : \n \n Assess, plan, implement,
and evaluate care for patients undergoing hemodialysis or
peritoneal dialysis in an inpatient setting. \n Monitor patients’
vital signs, laboratory results, and dialysis-related parameters,
ensuring optimal fluid and electrolyte balance. \n Administer
dialysis treatments, ensuring equipment is properly set up and
functioning, and addressing any complications that arise during
dialysis. \n Educate patients on dialysis treatments, including the
procedure, expected outcomes, and self-care post-treatment. \n
Collaborate with nephrologists, dietitians, social workers, and
other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care
plans. \n Monitor for and respond to complications related to
dialysis, such as hypotension, cramping, infections, or electrolyte
imbalances. \n Administer medications as prescribed, including
anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and other dialysis-related
medications. \n Maintain accurate documentation of patient
assessments, dialysis treatments, and interventions. \n Advocate
for patients’ needs, ensuring timely access to dialysis treatments
and other related care. \n Participate in patient education and
training programs related to kidney disease, dialysis, and renal
health. \n Provide emotional support to patients and families
dealing with chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease
(ESRD). \n Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support the
overall care of patients with renal conditions. \n \n\n
Qualifications : \n \n Education : Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted. \n
Licensure :\n \n Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state
of practice. \n \n \n Certification :\n \n Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification required. \n Dialysis certification (e.g., Certified
Nephrology Nurse - CNN) preferred. \n \n \n Experience : Previous
experience in dialysis, nephrology, or critical care nursing \n
