Job DescriptionSherman Counseling is a premier outpatient private practice. We are seeking a Full Time Intake Coordinator to join our outstanding team in Appleton, WI. Sherman Counseling is a strengths-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed counseling practice dedicated to helping people reach their full potential and heal from challenges throughout all stages of life. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answering all incoming new patient inquires to general intake phone line or online portal
• Daily review of provider schedule to determine who is available to accept new patients
• Maintenance of provider profiles to determine appropriate placement of prospective patients
• Complete all admissions paperwork and initiation into the Valant EHR system
• Scheduling appointments for intake evaluation
• Calculate appropriate patient fees based on the proper insurance fee schedule
• Verification of benefits online and by phone for all initial and recurring patients
• Acquires appropriate authorizations for visits within a timely fashion
• Follow ups on authorizations pending an approval
• Obtain patient PCP referrals when required for HMO plans
• Notifies patients when a provider is not a network participant
• Miscellaneous Tasks as assignedExperience & Requirements:
  • Minimum High School Diploma with prior front desk experience preferred
  • Must be familiar with computers and technology
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Medical EMR
  • HIPPA experience preferred
  • Detailed Oriented
