team.Manufacturing Engineer is responsible to initiate, plan, carry
out and integrate new technology or practices into new product
development and/or existing processes to improve product quality
and manufacturing process efficiency. This role will also support
and drive the site execution of the AstenJohnson Digital
Transformation Team's digital manufacturing strategies.Job
Duties:
- Provide input and technical support to product or process
development project teams, or manufacturing teams across the
forming group
- Lead productivity and quality improvement projects to ensure
project goals are met within established timelines
- Utilize advanced statistical tools and problem-solving skills
to investigate, analyze and resolve difficult process or
improvement issues
- Develop and execute a project plan for transition of new
products, processes, and equipment through commercialization
- Utilize design for manufacturing tools such as value stream
mapping and standard work
- Monitor industry trends and new technology, create innovative
solutions to shape the site manufacturing operations
- Help plan digital manufacturing system strategy & roadmap to
incorporate Industry 4.0 principles to rethink manufacturing
systems
- Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of site
digital manufacturing systems and visual operations management
program
- Occasionally travelRequired Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in a world-wide environment
with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good project management skills with experience in new product
and process development
- Able to multitask and progress on multiple projects
simultaneously
- Excellent analytical and quantitative problem-solving
skills
- Ability to evaluate and access process control-related computer
hardware and softwarePhysical Skills:Ability to work in a typical
office environment involving exposure to fluorescent lighting,
potential ink fumes, contact with synthetic materials and air
conditioning. Ability to sit and/or stand for 8 hours per day.
Ability to type at a computer for 8 hours per
day.Education/Experience/Certification:
- College Graduate, BS degree in engineering or related science
or manufacturing technology field from an accredited college or
university
- Minimum of five years of relevant manufacturing experience
preferred
- Six sigma Green/Black belt certification and/or CI/Lean
